I’m playing chauffeur, for reasons.
The school sent out an alert asking parents to drive so young drivers wouldn’t be pushing their limits. It was definitely one of the heaviest rainfalls I’ve experienced in a car. The next big band of rain should roll through about the time prom is over. :/

There’s going to be a lot of disappointed teens at that prom tonight.

And a lot of parents a lot less worried about their kids. ;)

Most definitely. I have at least seven more years until I have to worry about prom. I’m working on getting as scary looking as possible until then.

With the tattoos I have, I’ll look too much like a nazi. I’m gonna keep growing my beard, getting shitty tattoos and lifting weights.

I won’t have to worry about it at all.

That was our weather this morning, and our kids have prom tonight, too. Now it’s clear, just hella windy. My 16-year-old (his date is a junior) was planning to ride with his 17-year -old friend and his date. The friend just got his license a week ago. Mrs. Ttyymmnn and I said, “Nope.” He was disappointed, but he understands our concern. Fortunately, his girlfriend’s parents volunteered to do all the driving so we’re off the hook.

We will be able to see in a few months when the data is published by the state police.

That’s cool. You don’t have any nieces or nephews? Friend’s kids?

It’s kinda sucky to be driven by parents on what is supposed to be a fledgling attempt at an adult date. I get that.
As a parent, it would make me feel a lot better though . The weather would be only one reason.

Damn. Without any young people in your life, how do you prevent from becoming old and bitter?

not everyone need that. I’ve never in my life felt the need to have kids. when I was younger (e.g. high school) I assumed it was something that would eventually happen because it’s something you just do, but it never clicked. in fact, considering how irritating I find most teenagers to be, not having any around has probably kept me from getting old ;) I’m in my 40s and people are surprised when I tell them, I have all of my hair and not one of them on my head is gray.

Never said you have to have kids, but I definitely don’t think having them around makes you old. I’ve travelled all over the world with mine. They have plenty of aunts and uncles who don’t want to procreate, but have helped form them into productive being. Stay young, my friend.
